Sense-less is the theme on Inspire Me Thursday
Senseless, not that easy to completely ignore all ones senses. I decided to block sound out, I put ear plugs on... I then just waited, eyes closed, a brown felt pen in my hands. When I opened my eyes I started to doodle on my hand, a bit like I do on papar when I'm on the phone. When I'd covered my hand, I decided to take a picture of it. Once open in photoshop, I just let go, scribbling without thinking. To finish off the whole thing, I used my latest paper design (not at all made for this, but why not) and added it to the image. At that point, I was starting to think a bit too much so I just ended it (I usually think about a piece and then add a bit here, remove a bit there). So here it is, a more or less senseless piece of art.
EDIT : The more I see this piece the more I think that by not using my "senses" especially sound, I've ended up with a piece that is more "me" than any I've ever done, it's a piece of me on my blog, the iner more private me... my doubts, fears, emotions seem to scream at me in this piece, strange...

Funny I thought the same thing when doing mine, letting go of your senses makes you more honest! Love your piece, beautiful and rich, real eye candy!

This is stunning and powerful! The white "doodles" around the hand look like an aura of agitated energy, contrasting with the more looping lines of the text. I love the background paper which adds a little more energy to the composition along with the hand thrust forward. Very cool!

@Tamara - Thank you!

Very creative interpretation of the "senseless" theme. I love the idea of arting up your hand and then combining the image with your beautiful chiyogami design is a perfect merger.

Wow! This is the first time I've come to your website, and it is so beautiful! I was immediately struck by the beautiful rich colours and the gorgeous graphic at the top.
I'm so glad that you came by my blog and were kind enough to leave a message - thank you :) - so that I could travel here too.
I love what you used your own body for the piece. And then something about your hand appearing in Photoshop to me seems like your senses removed, you know? Beautiful work!
